Since its opening in 2001, UIjeongbu Arts Center has been offering world-renowned performances and exhibitions in Uieongbu, northern Gyeonggi-do, and northeastern Seoul. As it has been offering these programs at affordable prices, even people from Seoul are flocking to the venue to experience top-quality performances. Furthermore, Uijeongbu has been consistently hosting Uijeongbu’s unique brand festivals, like International Music Theatre Festival or Cheon Sang-Byeong Arts Festival, so as to offer its citizens Korean and global performances. Recently, the arts center reinterpreted Brecht’s “Mother Courage and Her Children” as a new performance called “Ueokcheckga,” which was well received.

Furthermore, the arts center is runing various arts and cultural educational programs, youth concerts, morning concerts, a summer festival, and other leading cultural events for the Uijeongbu residents. The main concert hall boasts state-of-the-art facilities, including a moving stage, a rotating stage, and an elevated stage as well as a top-notch lighing and sound system, accommodating events in all genres, from music to play, dance, opera, and musicals, and satisfying the sentiments of both the artists and the audiences.

Its small hall can be used for experimental works, small-scale plays, choral performnaces, chamber works, concerts, solo performances, and other performances catering to artistically keen artists and audiences.
