Local information
Dandong City is a border city in Liaoning, China that faces North Korea across Apnok (Yalu) River. Shinuiju Bridge, which links Shinuiju and Dandong, was destroyed by the U.S. Army during the Korean War but has since been reconstructed. Aboard a cruise ship, you can see Shinuiju in North Korea up close. Dandong is known for its light, textile, and electronic industries, and due to its important geopolitical location, it is a key city in Hwanghae and Balhae Economic Zone. Thanks to the activation of the South Korea-China economic trade, the city is emerging as an attractive investment spot.
